  3. 3) Riley

Where did you get the stenciling tool, to cut and get out the painted letters?
    Thanks!!

    • 4) Dana

You can get a craft knife at any craft store, like Joann. Sometimes people call it an X-Acto knife. But that’s just a specific brand of knife.

  4. 5) Ashley

Where did you get your shirt from?? I watched your video with my daughter and she is asking if we can make one RIGHT NOW. She has to be dropped off at preschool here in 3 minutes 😀 😀 😀

    • 6) Dana

      Hi Ashley,
These T-shirts are all from Target. The charcoal gray one that I’m wearing is so soft. I love it. It comes in other colors too.

      • 7) Ashley

Thanks so much! I love your entire outfit!

  5. 8) Melissa A Berry

We recently moved and I feel like I haven’t crafted in AGES! The video reminded me how much I love fabric paint. Super cute shirts. =)

  6. 9) Janice Tarr

Love all your cute & easy video’s
One question on the T shirt stencil – I did it & after 4 coats of fabric paint, I figured something was not right. It still didn’t cover, seemed to absorb into the fabric. Does the T shirt material matter or the Fabric paint? I bought Fabric Creations at Michaels. Any suggestions? Thank You. You are so easy to follow!

      Hi Janice,
      Sorry you’re having troubles.
Yes, it depends on the t-Shirt fabric and the paint. Every knit reacts differently to paint (and differently to sewing). I’m sure you watched the part where I tested out a few different paints to see how many coats to do, etc? I would recommend that before using a new paint.
Perhaps your fabric is super soft and super absorbent? So it’s soaking up more paint?
I haven’t used Fabric Creations paint….I typically buy Tulip brand fabric paint. So I’m not sure on that product. Maybe try Tulip and see how it looks.
Of course, maybe your paint has kind of a cool “washed out” look? That might be kind of cool.

  7. 11) Linda

VERY CUTE DANA!! You’re so talented. Where did you find the red shoes?

    Linda

    • 12) Dana

Haha. Thanks Linda! The shoes are from Aldo 🙂

  8. 13) Siobhann Bakke

Such fun, thanks for the tutorial.

  9. 14) Natasha

Can you use anything other than freezer paper

    • 15) Dana

No. Freezer paper is what you need. Wax paper or Parchment paper will not work the same.
      Sorry!

  10. 16) Speattle

Have you tried cutting the freezer paper stencil in a cutting machine? I have a Brother ScanNcut and wondered if you know how these type of machines do with freezer paper?

    • 17) Dana

Give it a shot! I’ve never tried, but it might work. Let me know how it goes!

  11. 18) Natasha

What is freezer paper and where do you get

  12. 19) Kari

    Can you reuse the stencils?

  13. 20) lilly

I love the red shirt you are wearing. Did you make it? can you do a tutorial on how?

  14. 21) Lilly

We are so excited to try this project! Just a word of caution do not put freezer paper in a laser printer. Somehow I managed to glue the paper onto the roller inside the printer. LoL hopefully just a minor setback :oP.
