I’m totally in denial about summer being over.
I mean, it’s still 90 degrees here in Texas. And I’m still wearing shorts. So summer hasn’t quite disappeared. But I guess I’m more in denial about waking up early for school with the kids, which really means: less late-night-Netflix binges.
But let’s talk about shorts.
I love shorts.
And if you have a hard time finding the length of shorts you want in the store, then just create your own! This is the semi-homemade version. I’ve shared some of these steps before HERE. But now you get the video version!
I start with a cheap pair of pants or jeans (from H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy, Target, etc):
And transform them into this:
Super simple. Super fast.
I’ll show you some tricks for all types of hemming….on pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, etc.

If you turn the pants inside out, you will be able to easily stitch from the right side. This is preferable for several reasons.
