When it comes to refashioning and upcycling, an XL T-shirt is the best canvas possible. A 90 Minute Shirt, girl’s summer dress, leggings, colorful aprons, appliqued shirts, ruffled scarves, pillows, the Warhol Dress, and well….almost anything can be created from an old T-shirt!
And today’s guest has another twist on the T-shirt refashion: A Superhero cape!

A whole month dedicated to boys?
Amazing is it not?
The word looks kind of funny by itself, doesn’t it?
Kind of like when you say the same word over and over again and it starts sounding strange…
boys, boys, boys, boys, boys
What can I say about them? They are pretty funny. Having two that are 19 months apart (surprise!!!) is both exhausting and exhilarating at the same time.
Luke and Levi. Two brothers growing up together and one mom just trying to keep up.
They are noisy, messy, energetic little rascals, but they have my heart. There’s nothing like a little boy’s hug and kiss to make you feel like all is right with the world.
As you know, kids go through phases and boy phases are completely new to me–Thomas the Tank Engine anyone? And currently, anything having to do with space or superheroes will do….which brings us to today’s tutorial. Is there a superhero in the house?
What’s more fun than a Superhero Cape? How about a Power Cuff to go with it? Now, I’ve seen plenty of fancy-shmancy capes out there, all shiny and satiny. And I’ve also seen what my boys are capable of doing to those beautiful capes, and it’s just not worth the $20 to $30.
So I created a cape that is easy to make (you don’t even need to use a sewing machine) and cheap, and a superhero power cuff that can be made very quickly.
