When it comes to refashioning and upcycling, an XL T-shirt is the best canvas possible. A 90 Minute Shirt, girl’s summer dress, leggings, colorful aprons, appliqued shirts, ruffled scarves, pillows, the Warhol Dress, and well….almost anything can be created from an old T-shirt! And today’s guest has another twist on the T-shirt refashion: A Superhero cape!
BRILLIANT.
Jenny is the blogging mom behind the Southern Institute for Domestic Arts and Crafts (or SIDAC for short). She shares her Nashville life through arts and crafts, photos, recipes, and everyday happenings. And she’s a mom of two boys! (and one adorable daughter). So boy designs are right up her alley. If you’ve never been to SIDAC before, check out Jenny’s new series Meals Kids Love. And then glance at What she wore on Wednesday. I love that kind of stuff. The Southern Institute is a place to relax and just feel at home with another mom and her kids. I love stopping by!
So let’s hear from Jenny….

A whole month dedicated to boys?
Amazing is it not?
The word looks kind of funny by itself, doesn’t it?
Kind of like when you say the same word over and over again and it starts sounding strange…
boys, boys, boys, boys, boys
What can I say about them? They are pretty funny. Having two that are 19 months apart (surprise!!!) is both exhausting and exhilarating at the same time.
Luke and Levi. Two brothers growing up together and one mom just trying to keep up.
As you know, kids go through phases and boy phases are completely new to me–Thomas the Tank Engine anyone? And currently, anything having to do with space or superheroes will do….which brings us to today’s tutorial. Is there a superhero in the house?

You’ll find the complete Superhero Cape Tutorial HERE on The Southern Institute for Domestic Arts and Crafts.
Thank you Jenny for sharing your genius idea! I’m pretty sure Owen needs 2 or 3 of those!
