The other morning I woke up with Lucy in my face saying, mom! We need a star for our tree!
Since we hadn’t bought a tree at that point, I had no idea what she was talking about. Surely my little girl with the big imagination was creating something in her make-believe world.
Come on mom! Let’s go get a star!
I got out of bed, walked in the front room, and what to my wondering eyes should appear?
Before leaving for work, my sweet husband somehow found the green construction paper in our closet, shaped it into a cone, hole-punched some “ornaments”, and made Lucy a tree for her Princesses. To be honest, it wouldn’t have mattered what it looked like. The fact that he took on a craft project all on his own was the sweetest treat to wake up to.
Lucy and I cut out a small yellow star and stuck it on top. How does it look, I asked her?Perfect.
I agree.
