The weekend is here! So how about a new WEEKEND STYLE sewing book!
Yessss.
I love this book (by Caroline Hulse of Sew Caroline).
And I just love Caroline!
She’s one of my fellow designers at Art Gallery Fabrics…so you’ll often notice HER sewing with my fabrics; and ME sewing with hers.
We both have a thing for bright colors and happy fabrics.
In fact that’s what I love most about Caroline: her cheerful personality, and of course her adorable style.
All of that is in the new book.
There are some great intro pages—talking about fabrics, how to care for them, which stitches to use, etc.
(And yep, I’m still holding onto scraps of Caroline’s yellow knit fabric that I used for both my girls here. I can’t get rid of it! And I can’t believe how short Lucy’s hair was!)
Then Caroline jumps right into the projects.
And they’re all so cute/cool/useful.
I really appreciate that in a book—when each project is something you REALLY would make and use (rather than filler projects).
I mean this skirt?? I would totally wear that.
In fact, I need that.
This dress has a cool back that I haven’t seen before:
And if you’re not a garment sewer, there are some fun bags, flip flops, and other projects too.
And honestly, she had me at Shift Dress.
