to market, to market to buy a fat….quarter?

or a big ‘ole stack of them at least!
That’s right! Today my friend Tami and I are making the short 3 hour drive to Houston for the Fall International Quilt Market. I loved getting acquainted with Minnesota at the spring Quilt Market, but my weak bones are glad they’re holding it somewhere warm this time around. I don’t do 40 degrees and under very well.

First we’ll hit up the sample spree, like we did last year. There will be plenty of this (and plenty of great photo ops of the mayhem):
Tomorrow we’ll tour the Market and soak up all the cool booth displays. Oh, I’m excited about the eye candy. You can see stuff from last year HERE.

I get to hang out with Deborah from Whipstitch. Yippee!
If you’re attending as well, let me know! Perhaps we can all meet up at the Lizzy House Cake Party because, who doesn’t want cake? (and a slice of Lizzy’s creative brain?)
And to make the experience even more fun, I thought I’d include ALL OF YOU!

As you know, most of the big name fabric designers are there….Amy Butler, Robert Kaufman, Michael Miller, Anna Maria Horner, etc.
SO, if I happen to talk to them….you know, if they’re at the booth when I stop by….I’d love to ask them some of YOUR questions!

If you could chat with:
Amy Butler
Liesl from Oliver + S Patterns
Anna Maria Horner
Sandi Henderson
Cynthia from FabricWorm and Birch Fabrics (organic cotton)
Cloud 9 Organic fabrics
Lizzy House
or any other Market goers,
WHAT WOULD YOU ASK THEM?

I’ll put on my best reporting skills (if I remember any from college) and on behalf of MADE readers, gather answers for you!

If you have a question you’d like to ask (again, no guarantees here, it’ll just make me more motivated to walk up to Amy and actually have something to say instead of blurting out, “you’re amazing!” and walking away), well, leave your question in the comments here and please note who it’s directed toward. You can see a full list of Market Exhibitors HERE.

And this year, I’ll actually know that I’m talking to the Michael of Michael Miller fabrics when I see the name Steiner on his badge. Too bad he won’t have his puffy shirt on. That was an easy identifier.

I’m hitting the road. Talk to you soon!
