Welcome back BOY-friends. One week down and three more boy-filled weeks to go!
If you joining us for the first time…
* make sure to stop by Made by Rae where she’s also celebrating.
* please add your boy project photos (just 1 or 2 photos please) to our BOY flickr group. I browsed through there last week and was in awe at your amazing creations. A roundup is in the works!
We talked a lot about clothing last week (which I love) but how about some craft ideas too? For a truly unique project, we asked one of our favorite bloggy friends to celebrate the BOY with us. Welcome Ellen from The Long Thread.
I’m sure your no stranger to her site but in case you’re new….Ellen is brilliant with her crafts, seasonal ideas, kid-inspired projects, and all things sewing. Just browse through her tutorial categories on the left sidebar and you’ll have a long to-do list going.
Ellen recently finished writing her first book 1, 2, 3 SEW, with 33 cool projects and ideas for all skill-levels. Pre-order it now on Amazon.
As part of Ellen’s Make it Monday series she’s created a unique Monster pillow–perfect for a tooth fair exchange. So let’s hear from Ellen!
This little monster will eat up teeth and spit out money! Perfect for little boys (and girls) who love quirky monsters, this tooth fairy pillow has a pocket with teeth.
Simple to make, even a beginning sewer can tackle this project. Add more details and embellishments or have your child join in on the making of the pillow by adding hand embroidered details. Sew on a name to personalize it. This pillow is made from cotton fabric with felt eyes and teeth, but the entire pillow could be made from felt if you choose.

Thank you Ellen for sharing your talents with us!
And for those of you out of school today…Enjoy your President’s Day holiday!
