The process of fabric design is amazing. But this might be my favorite part—seeing what everyone creates with it!
As I’m designing, I dream of many things the fabrics might become, but I can never predict the fun and creative ways they actually get used.
It’s always a surprise! In a very good way.
Like this beauty from the Instagram tag #fiestafunfabrics.
Ahhh! LOVE it! I never would have thought to use the Happy Streamers print that way. What a cool dress! (by Crystal)
And to officially kick off the release of Fiesta Fun Fabrics, I asked some of my favorite sewing friends to make Fiesta Fun projects to share. And here’s the first batch…..starting with THIS BASKET.
Wow. Mathew (aka Mister Domestic) really knocked it out of the park. I am in awe of the detailed work that went into this woven Easter basket. And it’s the perfect project to incorporate lots of prints. If you’re new to his style, you must check out his instagram feed. He does aahmazing things by weaving fabrics together.
So stop what you’re doing, and check out his step-by-step tutorial tutorial now.
I’ll wait…
Aaaand….now you’re back. If you haven’t started cutting strips to make your own fabric basket, I have another beauty to share. Actually, two beauties! Jessica (The Sewing Rabbit) made both a top for herself AND a dress for her daughter.
All of the details about her top and her daughter’s dress are in her post. But also — this HAS to be the most fun photoshoot ever! I love Jessica’s thoughts on being present with her kids and having fun with the photos.
This is just the beginning – we’ll have projects from all of these talents coming within the next month or so:
Woodlandschool
Whipstitch
Simple Simon & Company
SewSophieLynn
Sewing In No Mans Land

Ahhh I can’t wait!
Keep sharing your photos in the Instagram tag #fiestafunfabrics, and we’ll share some of them in the “Show Your Stuff” section of the gallery page. These dresses are FANTASTIC. That Mexican Dress Midnight dress in the snow! (by Hannah Corey)
And these Apron Dresses by Teal + Finch. What a great way to combine prints—Citrus sunrise with Papel Picado Verde. YES.
Have a great weekend friends!
