Blush fabric tour round-up

Ready for the holidays??
Christmas is only a few weeks away! And I’m sure you have SEW much to do?
Me too.
So here’s a little inspiration (in case “yards of fabric” is on your Santa list).

Last month I sent Blush Fabrics out to some of my favorite makers, to see what they’d come up with.
Ready for all the awesomeness?

Let’s start with this darling crew.
If you don’t follow Aubrey of Aubrey Plays, you need to. She lives in a magical world of dolls (which she sells! Christmas gifts!) Remember her Fiesta family picnic?  I’m so happy she joined the BLUSH tour for round 2.

With Blush, she designed Miah the Birthday Kitty and all her friends – including an owl and unicorn. Really, you have to click over to read the story and details. Aubrey is one talented woman.

Next we have THIS BAG by Vanessa at LBG Studio. Ahhh.  The leather accents. This “Tulips” fabric is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the collection.  The zipper clutch she made to go along (in the peach Tulip fabric) is equally as cute. Vanessa added so many pro touches. Now I seriously need a purse with FIVE pockets.

Then there are the fresh and clean placemats that Rose from Threadbare Creations made for her daughter! I love this beautiful housewarming gift. And even better — she included a pattern to go along, and it’s free. Go visit her site to read more and make your own.

Next up QUILTS.
Yessss.

This English paper piecing “kite” quilt is kind of blowing my mind.  Jodi at Tales of Cloth shared so many fun photos on instagram and on her blog of this quilt coming together.  The process!  It’s so cool.  And the way she fussy cut each motif, and the way she laid it all out?  It’s just perfection. I’m pretty sure it would take me a year to do something like that. Guess what, she has a free pattern for this quilt here. THANK YOU Jodi!

I want every one of the quilts that I’ve seen made with Blush.

Like this beauty from Tiffany at Village Bound Quilts….which is a prime example of how excited it makes me to see what others make with my fabric designs.  I adore the print/color combination she chose. And I’m happy she picked the “less obvious” fabrics in the group. She says the quilt design will be released as a pattern next year, so be sure to check out her post for the details.

And finally, the Maypole Quilt from Amanda at clark|pharm, with another amazing color combo! Oh my gosh, so many cool photos in her post. And such a great way to use big blocks of fabric to let the fabric designs shine.  Click over to see it all.

Okay, let’s talk clothing.
The Floret prints were a big hit with the ladies!

Did you know that the Floret comes in rayon?  With sunkissed pink flowers?
Alexis from My Sweet Sunshine used it for this stunning dress (and modeled it adorably as well). Click over to her instagram feed for more pics. She nails it every time.

The rayon is dreamy. Lightweight but not sheer, and I love the drape.
Erin Keith also used the rayon to make this beauty (she has fun details about the sleeves in her feed):

And if you make twinner outfits for yourself AND your daughter, then my heart might explode.  Ahhh. Jill! Of @kneesocksandgoldilocks is pretty much amazing. Just click over to her feed and you will find endless inspiration and smiles.  She’s great at sharing tons of photos–you have to see the back of June’s little dress.
And just when it couldn’t get any better, the floret also comes in KNIT! With honeydew blooms.

Elizabeth from Pins & Pinot is one of my new favorites on Instagram.  She’s always sewing!–cute things for herself (you should also check out the ice cream dress she made with Boardwalk Delight fabric. Ahhh)
I adore this Colette Moneta Dress in the Floret Honeydew knit.

And as it turns out, Floret works for ladies of all ages…

Inês from La Folie also used the knit for this Spin Dress for her daughter. I looove how the florets look on the circle skirt! Changing directions, blowing in the wind…

Of course you can get the Floret Honeydew in a woven cotton too….which is darling for this romper (above right) by Summer of sevenpretty—click over to see pics of the front!

How about sewing for sisters?  Erin Keith shared so many cute pics of her girls in their Blush outfits. I’m such a sucker for those back button details. And for pictures of sisters being sweet. Check out Erin’s instagram feed for more.

Here’s some more Floret beauty from Cassie of Lily Shine Creates and Emi of Just Add Fabric…
I love how these two dresses show the different properties of the rayon vs. the cotton. See how small the folds are in the drapey rayon on the left? And with the cotton on the right, it’s full-bodied and crisp. Both work great, it just depends on what you’re going for. Cassie and Emi perfectly paired their patterns and substrates!

Now it’s time to get real serious.
About cats.

The Cat Nap print was a personal favorite when I put this collection together, but I had no idea what you guys would think. As it turns out, my Clara isn’t the only one crazy for kitties! Meow.
And now I need these pajamas in my size.

Delia of Delia Creates not only made some snuggly pajamas for her daughter in the KNIT fabric, but she added a pocket kitty. Yep. A POCKET KITTY. And she has the free pattern for it in her post!

The only thing better than pink cats?
Pink cats WITH RUFFLES.
Sara from The Sara Project made this darling dress (left):

And Summer from sevenpretty gave her dress a twirl with this knit cutie as well. Tumbling kitties on the circle skirt!

As much as I love the kitties on their own (and I DO), I think something special happens when they’re combined with another print in the collection, like Abby did for her daughter’s Sullivan Dress:

Just enough coordination without going too matchy-matchy.

Emi from Just Add Fabric made the dress below for her younger daughter, and then was able to squeeze a top from the leftovers. (More ruffles YES.)

The contrasting trim she used on both was just the right touch! The top was supposed to be for big sister, but a little drama ensued involving fabric dibs. Haha! Check out her post for the scoop.
