a Merry 2014 Christmas card, from our family to yours

Happy 2015 friends!
2015.  I like the sound of that—-I like numbers in increments of 5.
It just feels right.

And I hope all your holidays felt right…and were all merry and bright!

I couldn’t close out the year without saying a very merry Christmas and sharing our annual card.
I love getting Christmas cards!
So here’s our card, to you.

Because it’s that most wonderful time of the year….
When mom announces right after church, “hey, before anyone changes their clothes, let’s take a quick family picture!”

And he’s all like:

And I’m all like:

And most of them are like:

And eventually it’s kind of like:

And then Clara kicks up her Sparkle Skirt and red boots (which she insisted on wearing for 2 days straight.  Good thing they go with the Christmas theme).
And we call it good.

And a couple weeks later this stack shows up at my house.
And Lucy and I address them all and pop them in the mail.

And then he’s all like:

And then we start getting cards in the mail.
And my friend Lyndsey is all like:

Dude. Seriously?
Best. Handwritten address.  Ever.
And my house is all happy like:

Ahh.
It’s like friends and family were hanging out with us all season long.
And YOU guys are what makes the season bright.
So thank you for popping in on us throughout the year, for leaving comments, for sewing and having fun.   Have a wonderful 2015!

  1. So lovely, Dana. Happy new year to you, too!

  2. I can’t believe how tall Owen is – he’s nearly caught Lucy!!

Happy 2015 to you and yours.

  3. That’s it. I’m coordinating church clothes more often.

I ordered 75 cards this year, and only mailed off 21 to family members I ended up seeing just a few days later. Ha! Maybe next year?

I really love the “postcard” style of Christmas card 🙂 and the lovely message on the back. GREAT styling too 😀 Reminds me of when I was a kid and had been to church, and mum used to get out the camera before any of us could get out of our churchie clothes 😉 Thanks for a fantastic blog and also showing us your beautiful new home and your amazing decor. Happy 2015 from Melbourne 😀

  20. Hi Dana,

I LOVE Christmas cards. I love sending them, getting them and seeing everyone else’s, too! Just a head’s up, though… you forgot to blur out your address on that super fancy envelope in the picture of all your cards on the wall. Perhaps it wasn’t an oversight and you don’t mind but in case it was a mistake I had to let you know.

    Happy New Year!

    thanks dana for sharing!
yr blog is always inspiration and admiring 🙂
and honestly here in europe we are probably not soo into these family season cards. now and then we get some. we do some annual pictures but i thought these kind of as a bit cliche. but i probably missed the fact that you get all that nice cards from your beloved ones, family and friends. and especially as we moved this year i imagined how lovely it could have been. so maybe its not too late yet to make a picture of the for of us and send especially to friends we havent seen in a while.
thank you again, dana and a wonderful and creative 2015!
