Happy citrus, streamers, + dresses

Fiesta Fun fabric collection by Dana Willard for Art Gallery Fabrics - Happy Streamers and Zocalo Lemon prints - sewn by Sew Caroline - Molly Romper from Simple Life Pattern CompanyYou guys. We are finishing strong with the final projects in the Fiesta Fun Fabric Tour!  I love how the makers highlighted three different fabrics, and how differently each were used.

First we have the Happy Streamers print.  This print is great because it works as a stripe OR as a coordinate.  And it’s extra fun to play with the direction, the bias, etc.  If you want to see an amazing bias-streamers look, check out this dress.
And then tell me if these colorful looks don’t make you happy??

Amiright? Or amiright?

• That bag on the top left (above) by Erin of Sewbon is fantastic. All those compartments! And the different colored zippers! YES. This would be an awesome travel bag.

Sew Caroline’s little daughter, in a romper, is happy enough.  But ahhh, with that low scoop-neck collar??  Darling.  And hello…baby-romper bum with streamers is extra happy.  Check out her post for all the details.

• On the bottom left is one of FOUR girl’s dresses that Anneliese from Aesthetic Nest made. She did a great job with coordinating just the right solids for each design. She also made some amazingness with the Citrus Sunrise knit which you’ll find further below.

Speaking of citrus knit…mmm. I love this next photo.  It was an awesome surprise to see that Colette Patterns had used this fabric for a sample of their new Gabrielle Dress.

You can read more about my inspiration for the design here.

Basically, alllll the citrus please!

Here’s what our tour makers squeezed out:
• On the left (below), we have Alexis from My Sweet Sunshine. She made her daughter this dress using the Basics Dress from Cali Faye. That curved hem is such a great touch.  And I selfishly love that her daughter and mine are entering the tween stage together…because she always has brilliant ideas and spot-on styling.

• Anneliese’s other two outfits are shown top middle. She had to get extra creative because both of her girls wanted something citrusy. Love it!

• Kelly from Sewing In No Man’s Land (top right) made a couple of dresses from her beautiful Tully design for her girls. And it doesn’t get any better than styling the photos with actual citrus….on the beach…in Australia.  I mean.  Yes, yes. yes.

Finally, we have the Mexican Dress print, used in both colorways…
• This is the bag that I showed you above, using the Happy Streamers on the inside.  I love the creative way Erin broke up the print with a solid chambray block and hand embroidery. (French knots for the win!)

• On the right is Kelly’s other Tully Dress. I can’t decide which one is my favorite….hmmmm….

Fiesta Fun fabric collection by Dana Willard for Art Gallery Fabrics - Mexican Dress Morning + Midnight prints• Cassie from Lily Shine Creates made this adorable dress for her daughter using the canvas. YES! The Mexican Dress Morning print comes in canvas!  I think it shows how great this substrate is for garments. It isn’t stiff or heavy, and it can even be gathered into a cute little girl’s dress.

Annnnd that my friends is a Fiesta Fun Fabric Tour wrap-up.
Orange you glad you stopped by??
