Sewing and shooting for STYLO 2

Have you seen the latest issue of STYLO magazine?
It’s just as gorgeous as the last one, and I’m thrilled I got to be part of it!

I’ve got a couple designs and a tutorial in the issue because, yep, I’ve got an issue with skirts.  Heh Heh, I can’t stop making them!  But there’s so much more than just skirts for you browse…

And this photo by Anneliese of Aesthetic Nest might be my favorite:

STYLO is the new fashion-forward eMagazine for children’s sewing!  And this issue has 171 pages of inspiring ideas, all sewn and photographed by bloggers from around the world.  It’s simply beautiful.

There are spring looks, colorful styles, darling pixies, even a horse and buggy from Marrakech.

…Plus there are all sorts of interesting features and a rundown of where to buy fabric in major cities from LA to Paris to Tokyo!

And seriously, I’ve only scratched the surface.
I  don’t want to spoil the fun.  So start flipping!
Enjoy!

  1. I enjoyed the first issue, I haven’t had a chance to look at the second one. Great job, Dana! Super cute skirts on Lucy.

  2. Loving all the posts of late!!! Keep them coming!!!!

Gorgeous! Love the skirts! Where oh where did you find that beautiful field of poppys? That’s the most amazing shot!

  4. Adoring the royal blue and white stripped fabric and skirt! Tutorial or where is the fabric from?!?! Anything! Darling! My little girl would love it!!! Thank you for sharing. You are a beautiful seamstress!

  5. Thanks for sharing, this issue looks great!

Can I put in a request? The weather is changing to summer already down south, and I’d love to learn to sew some some dresses for myself (my daughter is more of a shorts and tank kinda girl, lol). I’d love if you could share a tutorial some day!

    Thanks for all you do!

  6. Your simple skirt pattern is THE pattern that I have made most frequently. We love it and they are sprinkled throughout our house. I can’t wait to try one with a sash! It’s you and Rae Hoekstra who, through your well written patterns and tutorials, taught me how to sew. Thanks for the inspiration:)

  7. Oh my goodness that picture in
Morocco is amazing. I will get there one day! Bron

  8. Howdy! Someone in my Myspace group shared this site with us so I came to give it a look.
    I’m definitely enjoying the information. I’m book-marking
and will be tweeting this to my followers! Superb blog and brilliant style
    and design.

Hello, is there a pattern for the skirt pictured at the top of the 2nd issue with the tie on the front of the skirt?

  10. 13) Annika

Any chance there will be an adult version of the gorgeous maxi-skirt? Love it!

  11. I love your work for this issue! The maxi skirt with sash is my favorite–so awesome. Thank you for calling out my photo. You made my day.
