what I wear, every day

I’ve often seen people blog “What I wore Wednesday” posts. I think it’s fun to see their style and how they put outfits together. But I realized the other week that if I was to do that one of two things would happen:
* I’d have to find really interesting clothes to wear every Wednesday so the posts were fun and exciting
* you’d realize that I pretty much wear the same thing every day (anyone that sees me on a weekly basis knows what I mean).

First, the disclaimer….
I love a cute shirt or unique dress. Often I long for the days when I used to think more about my outfits, dressed-up in uncomfortable shoes, and only had to worry about walking from classroom to classroom or sitting in my office cubicle all day. You know, and not have to worry about my hair getting in the way, or sticking to my sweaty neck as I stoop over to pick up toys and kids at a Texas park.

(shirt from H&M, via Goodwill):

Sorry Stacy and Clinton. I do know what to wear. But in my everyday life here’s what it consists of. T-shirts and skinny jeans:
Thank goodness the basic “T” shaped shirt has morphed into cute, soft, knits from Target and Old Navy. The word T-shirt is far more stylish than it’s ever been. So I guess I’m okay.

But open my drawer and you’ll find the same T-shirt in every color (and sometimes 3 versions of white cause you know how stained those get over time). I love these “boyfriend” Tees from Target! I wish they’d carry the bright yellow one again. Hey, when you find something that works, snatch it up!

I love to mix in stripes or ruffles from time to time.

I guess I’m a minimalist when it comes to clothing style and home decor. Simple stuff with an accessory splash and bright color here or there.

Next up in the daily wardrobe….
JEANS. Specifically Skinny Jeans, in many colors:

I buy almost all my skinny jeans at Forever 21, where they’re only $15! I mean, fifteen dollars?? Regular price?? I’m really bummed I didn’t buy them in teal and mustard-yellow last year when I saw them. My sister has them in red too.

In the summer, I swap out the jeans for shorts and skirts but the outfits are pretty much the same.

And since I hate washing and drying my hair, the other daily staple is a Headband. I buy most of them at H&M, in a pack of multiple colors.

Now throw that all together with my favorite shirts…..
And I have an outfit for every day of the week!
Okay, now I’m 6 years old again. Neatly folded piles in my drawer so I know what to put on each day. Don’t worry, these piles were only for the photos.
I love to mix and match all my clothing. With lots of solids and stripes it’s easy to do.

And we can’t forget the last two accessories.
Jewelery:
And Shoes:
I wear a lot of slip-on flats and flip-flops from Target, Old Navy, and even the thrift shop!
There you go! A complete outfit ready to go!
And, that’s a day in my life.
Now you don’t have to wonder what I’m wearing every Wednesday. Just pick a color.
