Money Cuffs with GUEST: A Lemon Squeezy Home

Welcome back to more BOY fun! If you’re new to MADE, this is the LAST WEEK (sort of) for Celebrate the BOY. We’ve teamed up with Made by Rae and many guest bloggers to bring you 30 days of boy crafts, boy clothing, and boy ideas and the days are winding down. Check out the archives for the recap and links. We’ll still have some posts trickling in next week as well. So we’re not saying goodbye to boys just yet.

And today, we have TWO guests sharing boy accessories!
We all know it’s hard to find a cool (and non cheesy) way to accessorize a boy. Last year Alice in La La Land shared these cool felt watches:
And today’s guest is sharing another unique accessory you’re gonna love. Please welcome a guest many of you know….Christie from A Lemon Squeezy Home!
Christie is just adorable and her blog name says it all…her site is fresh, bright, and cheerful. I want to pop in for a dish of ice cream when I’m there! (btw, she’s got an etsy shop too)
As a mom of two boys (and a daughter), she is always creating cool kid things. And her project today is just genius–a money cuff! And no matter your sewing level, you should be able to master this one. She’ll show you the easy velcro version, and the intermediate zipper version. Both are fabulous and totally fun.
So let’s hear from Christie….

I am really excited to participate in Celebrate the Boy today! Dana and Rae are so inspiring and fun! And they happen to have a couple of my most favorite blogs around:).

I’m Christie from A Lemon Squeezy Home and I have three kiddos–two boys and a girl. My daughter is two, and my boys are seven and six. Yep! Eighteen months apart but thankfully they really balance each other out with how opposite they are in so many ways! Lucky for me, they are still young enough to enjoy what I make for them. Not only do they love it, they are actually proud of it.
My six year old’s kindergarten teacher even lets him stand up in front of the class with the newest item I’ve made for him, and he proudly declares, “My mommy made this for me!” What encouraging words–they love it, I love it. What more can I ask? (Although my seven year would be quite mortified to be seen in one of the bow ties I’ve made him!).
As a mother of two boys, it’s fun to see the treasures that they bring home. Leaves, rocks, grass, air-soft pellets, maybe a piece of colorful garbage, or even flowers. They get especially excited for any loose change they find. This money cuff tutorial will show you how to sew a fun little place for those tiny treasures to be stored.
What a brilliant idea Christie! I KNOW Owen would like one of those. Thanks for sharing your creative skills with us!
