Feathered Headdress with GUEST: Freshly Picked

Yesterday we talked about superheros and capes. Today we’re dressing up again! And who better to talk about feathers and leather than the moccasin lady herself: Susan of Freshly Picked.
Freshly Picked is a site I go to for design inspiration and unique takes. From sewing ideas and tutorials, to runway talk, to totally rad his and hers pillows, to one-of-a-kind home decor, Susan dabbles in all sorts of cool.
She’s a mom of two cute kids. And yes, that’s a dress down there in our BOY celebration. But seriously, how adorable is that Lumber Jack creation? I’d say the flannel checks fit right in with boy month.
But most of all, Freshly Picked is known for making MOCCASINS! Susan’s mocs have been spotted in all sorts of magazines on all sorts of celeb babies. Pretty cool!
And since Susan is a master of leather-working, she has a simple Feathered Headdress tutorial to share with us today.
Let’s hear from Susan……

I’m so thrilled to be participating in Boy month again. I’ve so enjoyed scrolling through all of the wonderful submissions. I love crafting for my boy and have often checked back in last year’s archives whenever I’ve felt stumped for boy ideas.

Today I am celebrating the boy in the form of dress ups.
My kids always want to dress up in feathers and leather–maybe because I always put them in Moccasins? I’ve made this feather headband about 10 times and each time it takes me about a half hour. Easy, cute, and the kids love it!

You’ll find the complete Feathered Headdress Tutorial HERE on Freshly Picked.
Thanks Susan for the unique craft!

Come back this afternoon for my COWBOY take.
