Yellow Flower with GUEST: simple Analogy

While going through the Celebrate Yellow Flickr group last week, I came to this picture and paused for a bit. What a clean, simple flower! And what a beautiful, crisp photo. I wanted a flower like that….
Then I noticed more beauty coming from Heather’s photostream, like this very original dress. How cool!
And then I clicked to her blog, simple Analogy, and found even more eye candy. Flower notebooks, ConKerr Cancer pillowcases, and a red reversed-applique skirt.
Scones with lemon curd…
Lemon-stamped cards and a Red Letter Day ball…..the list goes on and on. She has an esty shop too.
So, I asked Heather if she would celebrate yellow by teaching us how to make her pretty knit flower. It was a bit selfish on my part since I really HAD to know how she did it. But she said yes, so we all get to benefit! Okay, take it away Heather…

Hi! I’m Heather from simple Analogy. In the afternoon, after homeschooling my two sons, I can usually be found at the dining room table surrounded by fabric and thread. I am addicted to sewing and virtually all things crafty. And reading crafty blogs. I found Dana’s through the first season of So You Think You’re Crafty, and have been a faithful ever since. It is exciting to be Celebrating Yellow with you today.
As a redhead the color yellow has always been one I have shied away from wearing. The sunny variety makes my hair look orange; the mustard variety makes my face look pale and sickly. While wearing yellow as a predominant color is not advantageous for me, accessorizing with it is quite fun!
My favorite way to include yellow in an outfit is to add a handmade knit fabric flower or two… or three. These flowers only take a few minutes to create and have multiple uses. Would you like to learn how to fashion one of your own?

Yes! I’m heading over now. Thanks Heather! You can find the complete Flower Tutorial HERE on simple Analogy.
