WINNER! And other Valentine’s love

As always, thank you all for the comments and for playing along with my simple giveaway! Some of you commented that as a beginner sewer, it felt like the perfect project for you to tackle. AGREED! These Valentine’s cards are easy, quick, and your imagination can run wild. And as reader Jen pointed out, doesn’t sewing on paper give you a thrill? I love the sound the needle makes hitting the paper.
Actually, YES! I never thought about it. The funny things we crafters enjoy.

And now….for the Winner (via random.org) of the Valentine’s Cards:

#99 – Jenn, who said, I’d love to win!

Congrats Jenn!

And while we’re on the topic of Valentine’s Day, here are some very cool craft ideas I found on some sites I adore.

From the Sugar City Journal, I am in love with this little idea. Her daughter drew a picture (of the coolest/cutest Cinderella I’ve ever seen). Then she printed the front and back up on paper:
Then folded it around a match box and put candy inside. Too cute. I keep coming back to look at this picture. I’m not sure if it’s the drawing I really love or the whole package deal? I mean, it’s just so….brilliant. I would LOVE to get a little valentine like that.

From Sarah Jane Studios, I bought this lovely card last year when buying some prints for my MIL as a gift:
It seems too cute to just mail to anyone, so I have it propped up on a bookshelf. How I adore all her sweet prints.

Okay. Remember the valentine’s pouches you made in grade school to hold all your classmates cards? Well move over paper-mache. Check this out! Brought to you by Melissa of The Polka Dot Chair, it’s The Love Pouch with a slit on top for inserting love notes. I love it! And you can buy the PDF file from their etsy shop May & Mae (made up of Melissa AND the talented Traci from Amazing Mae! Small world)

And finally, when I saw this I wanted to drop everything I was doing, run to my felt stash, and start cutting. It’s simple, colorful, cheery. It’s perfect. From Made by Rae, she calls it The Easiest Heart Garland. Evar. Who can turn that down?
I want to hang out in this room. Especially so I can get a better look at her cool artwork. You know, Rae was a High School Physics Teacher in her former life. You combine that with artistic creativity and…..voila:
Love continues to fill the air. Have you got something brewing?
If you try making heart cards yourself, add your pics to our flickr group! I love to see your spin on things.
