MADE Everyday VIDEO episode: Ruffled Streamers!

Ready for a new video?
Don’t be scurred.
This is a fast, easy, colorful, 4 minute how-to….

Yep!
We’re making:

We’re gonna take basic crepe paper streamers….

And turn them into this!

Yay!
It’s a party on a roll.

I’ve shared these Ruffled Streamers before…but trust me, it’s SO much more fun to see them ruffle up on the big screen—uh—small screen.
So get ready for the magic.
Just hit the play button below and enjoy!

AND if you’re gearing up for a Cinco De Mayo fiesta….streamers are even better with Easter Egg Maracas to go along!  And maybe a napkin flower or two.  And when the party’s over, you can wear your decor home.

MADE EVERYDAY with Dana is a fresh new sewing show, where we create cool things using everyday items.

My 4 year old loves to watch your videos! lol. I was reading your post and she exclaimed, “Unpause it, Mommy! Unpause it!” I hadn’t even gotten to the video yet, she recognized your “set”. I didn’t realize she was such a fan.

^^too funny, I was just coming on here to tell you that my four year old will be SO excited in the morning when she sees a new video! This morning she asked for ‘the making a skirt video’ and then watched all of them, again. We both love them 🙂 she is also IN LOVE with fabric, the fabric store, and projects. This week we turned the old changing table into a doll playhouse (disney dolls for now, American girl dolls in a few years). Thanks for the inspiration- for all ages!

I just made some fresh ruffle streamers for my sons sixth birthday party his past weekend! They are always so fun to make. And still hanging up in my kitchen!

  5. Sounds like you have a following of 4 year olds! My 4 year old little guy loves your videos too…and I find him sewing paper with my machine (turned off, of course) all the time! He’s gonna love this. 🙂

  6. Great tip, thank you! I need to decorate the bikes of the kids tomorrow, for the celebration of Koningsdag (Kingsday) which we cellebrate saturday in The Netherlands. I can make these in red-white-blue, and decorate the bikes with it! 🙂

The timing of this video was perfect! Our company picnic is this coming Friday and we needed a festive way to cordon off a section of a local park for my office division. I thought of this video and said, “How about if we take some ruffled streamers in our team colors (neon green/black/white) and we can string them between stakes around the outside?” So I watched your video again last night and now there’s a mountain of ruffled streamers on my sewing table waiting for the picnic! Thanks!

I can’t wait to get to the store to get my streamers! This looks like fun!

  16. First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if
you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how
you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are usually lost simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
    Thanks!
