I’m speaking at the Alt Design Summit, and I need a few helpers

This January I’m headed to Salt Lake City for the Alt Design Summit. Of all the blogging/networking conferences out there, this might be the one I’m most excited about. Because as much as I enjoy being “crafty”, I really love the design/art/photography aspect of creating even more. It’ll be fun to mingle with design-y people and learn from their creative ideas.

Are you going this year?
Check out the line-up of Speakers…Amy Butler, Grace from Design Sponge, Pilar Guzman of Martha Stewart Living….
Others I’m looking forward to:
Ez of Creature Comforts, Brooke from Inchmark, Christine from Small Magazine, Jess of Sunset Magazine, Kate from Chronicle Books, and well, a whole bunch more. I’ll let you browse the list.

And….I’m totally flattered that little old me is shuffled in the mix! I’ll be teaching one of the two Design Camp breakout classes–sharing 2 modern sewing projects with the group.

And yea, I’ll be 8 months pregnant at that point. Please don’t tell my doctor. But what’s the worst that can happen? I give birth in Salt Lake? We have lots of family there.
Okay,

So here’s where I need a bit of help:
—————————
There’s no way I can teach 25-30 people how to sew a couple projects in 2 hours of time. Disaster. So I’m looking for a few helpers for the class. Please note: This will not give you access to the rest of the conference. You would just be coming to assist during the class and receive a huge Thank You! from me and the students.

I currently have 4 people lined up but I need about 3 more.
If you’re interested, here are the details…
* You need to have intermediate sewing skills (the projects will be basic but you need to feel comfortable enough to help others).
* Each helper will oversee about 5 students and assist them in sewing a couple projects
* Sewing machines will be provided but you will oversee the machine that’s assigned to you and your group.
* The date is Saturday Jan 21, from about 12-3pm at the Grand America Hotel in downtown SLC.

If that sounds like something you’d like to help with, please send me an email at:
danawillard (at) gmail (dot) com
Please include a link to your blog if you have one.
Of course I have no idea how many people will be interested and I can only select 3 people so please keep that in mind.

Many thanks!
