testing, testing, 1, 2, 7?

Before releasing the Beach Robe Pattern to everyone, I decided to test it out first on a few sewing friends. I tried to choose pattern testers with a range of sewing interest and a variety of children’s ages, so all the sizes would be tested out.

They were wonderful! They each gave me detailed feedback on the pattern instructions and the pattern pieces. I asked them to be honest and critical and I used their input to make improvements on the pattern before putting it up for sale. They were pattern testing gems! AND they took gorgeous pics of their finished robes.
I’ve been excited to share these with you!

From Kristina at Sir Bubbadoo, these photos really made me smile. The colors, the fluffy rug, her cute little bub! She used a charcoal gray towel from Target, for a size Small robe (her son is 9 months old).
Anneliese at Aesthetic Nest made robes for her two older daughters (size Medium and Large) and they’ve been using them every day for swim lessons. I love the feminine touch of fabric inside the orange/white stripes. I actually have that same towel!…it’s just sitting in the sewing queue. Maybe another robe for Owen? Love those dots too.
These pics will make you smile.
Check out this little model:
Tiffany of Simply Modern Mom made robes for her girls and toted them along to a beach vacation in North Carolina. Love that pose! Click over for more photos.
Jill of Homemade by Jill also made two robes. She spruced up Oscar’s robe by adding an embroidered shark on the front. Clever, clever!
For little Ruby, she lined and bound the robe with Riley Blake fabrics. I really love the color combo.
Disney of Ruffles and Stuff admits she was scared to sew with a pattern. Whaaat? A genius like her? Of course she pulled it off beautifully, adding a flower to the front and lining it with vintage fabric.
Is Paige the cutest thing ever? Those dimples!
I was really excited to have an international sewer try out the pattern, since I was curious how the printing would go in another country. And I knew Isabelle of Polkadotjes was just the right person. She would sew beautifully, do it with style, and take cool photos. I love her blog.
Here’s another make-you-smile rendition. Don’t you just want to pop open an Orange Fanta and party along? Emily of Saltwater kids is wonderful at sewing and styling. I really like the gray and white striped touches on the hood and cuffs. Wonderful contrast.
And that’s a round up!
Make sure to check out Luvinthemommyhood next week for her version of the Beach Robe. Shannon also tested and sewed for me and her robe is almost done!

Thank you again friends for being so willing to try it out.
