Once Upon a Thread and the striped Jammies

Have you been following No Big Dill’s theme this month, Once Upon a Thread? Every day a new guest shares a sewing creations based on kid’s literature. And I’m in love!
Here’s a sample for you…

Harold and the Purple Crayon by No Big Dill. You must click over to see Katy’s “drawing” on the inside of the jacket. Very unique.
The Dot with Meg of Elsie Marley. She shares the cutest story about learning to be an artist. You’ve got to click over and read it.
Peter Rabbit with Anna of Noodlehead. Such a sweet little bag with a surprise on the front… pin tucks and chunky wooden buttons! Click over to see.
The Giving Tree with Ashley of Lil Blue Boo. The monochromatic apple fabric is just perfect and I never tire of her little model.
Dick and Jane with Lindsay of The Cottage Home. So precious. And made from a thrifted sheet!
Another one by Katy: A Tree is Nice. These photos make me want to jump in a tree and listen to time pass.
A Bad Case of the Stripes with Ruby of Cakies. I want a party to go to, just to wear that.
And that’s only a 1/3 of the guests! I was so tempted to share more but I’ll let you click over and see them for yourself.

And today I’m very excited that I get to be the guest!
When Katy emailed me about participating, it was an instant YES. Over the past year I’ve grown to love the recreation of children’s books through costumes and clothing. There are so many great illustrations out there to draw from. I need to do it more often. So far we’ve done….

And today we’re adding one more to the list:

Head over to see more and to read the book with us!
And thank you Katy for having me. You’ve inspired me to keep going on the literature theme. Hopefully you’ll see more in the future.
