Aqua Velvet

It seems my little goose has grown 3 inches in the past few months. Most of her church dresses are too short. So I started a couple new winter dresses for her, only to have a heat wave hit Southern California. I’m not complaining! But it did put my creations on hold for a bit while we wore summer dresses. Really though, no complaints, I’m just rambling.
So now that it’s raining, I’m back! And here’s what I MADE….a little Aqua-Blue velour jumper dress:
My inspiration came from this sweet ad I ripped out of a magazine in my doctor’s office. I love everything about this photo:
So I started making Goose a gathered skirt with suspenders. But as my work evolved, I decided it was actually cuter as a dress. (I guess the little gathered skirt is back on the “must make” list.) I’m really pleased with the result and it fits her perfectly.
The criss-cross back is my favorite part:
It’s nice to be back sewing again.
