The WARHOL Dress

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s famous album cover art for the Velvet Underground, this dress is perfect for summer. It’s light weight, not clingy or tight, it says “relaxing” to me.
The pattern comes in two sizes (6-12 months and 3-4 years), with printable pattern pieces, step-by-step photos to guide you along, and lots of info. The best part is….its FREE! If you’ve never tried out one of our patterns, now you can!

There are two variations on the dress:
Since my husband and I are headed on vacation to Italy, I made the Italy version for our 4-year-old. Hopefully when she spots that Italian boot, she’ll have a small grasp on where in the world her parents have gone.
The construction of this dress is really quite simple and soon you’ll find yourself making all sorts of variations on it. Make a shirt, make a Shortie, make one for YOU?!
My favorite part of this dress has to be the yoke, which ties in a bow over the shoulder. Make the bow as small or large as you like. It’s feminine without being over-the-top.
For a more modest look or for cooler months, you can easily throw a t-shirt underneath or a sweater on top. Add leggings as well!

Ready to try it out? Excellent. It’s FREE!
You can download the PDF Pattern Warhol Dress by MADE Everyday.

And that’s it! Of course when you’re done with your version of the dress, we’d love you to share it with us. Include #madeeveryday when you post it on Instagram!
Ciao!

I really want to make one of these, but I can’t seem to get your files to open. It just sits on a blank page.

  4. I made this for my little bit out of an old batman shirt I had and I just drew a line between the 2 sizes since she’s in 2t. It came out a bit short but since it’s cold weather right now it makes an ADORABLE jumper over a long sleeve shirt and with jeggings! I just wanted to thank you, it is such a cute pattern!!

    Hi there!
What a beautiful dress! I would love to make this for my little girl in Haiti. She is nearly 18 months old. Any tips on where to enlarge the pattern from the 6-12 month one to make it a little bigger for her?

    Thank you,
    Katie x

    Hi,
I really want to make this dress but I cant get the PDF to work. Please help!

    xx

  7. I love dresses/skirts on little girls but whenever I made them for my daughter I’d make a little pantaloons to go under same. That way I never had to worry about people seeing her undies at playgrounds, etc.

I’ve told her I’m still happy to make pantaloons for her but at 18 she doesn’t seem interested for some reason … go figure??? 🙂

Really love this pattern! Just finished making one for my friend. I lined it and sewed a couple ruffles of tulle to the lining to peek out of the bottom. Turned out great! Thank you for sharing!!!!

I want to make this dress. The instructions call for Freezer Paper. What else can I use instead as it costs $7.00 per roll and one only needs s small amount for the banana.
    Thanks
